Launch Kit

Tego Launch Kits provide everything needed for testing, simulating, and designing intelligent RFID applications with high memory passive tags. Using the kits, many customers have been able to start encoding tags and reading data within a couple of hours. There are several families of kit available:

Aerospace launch kits are an “out of the box” solution for aviation companies adding RFID tags to flyable parts. The Tego Aviation Launch Kit includes the reader, software and tags needed to start reading and writing ATA Spec 2000 records on tags. Easy – incorporates seamlessly across your entire fleet and is available in both fixed station and hand-held varieties. Asset management / MRO kits include a reader, tags and TegoView software which allows data records to be written, archived and read to and from tags easily and rapidly. Information is stored in the tag as name-value pairs — similar to a database — using a standards based containerized data format. The container format is completely independent of application and industry, and as a result users are easily able to customize the data for their particular application.

The kits allow users to validate the benefits of having information at point of use, including reduced labor and lifecycle management costs, increased equipment utilization, improved regulatory compliance, enhanced authentication and security, and simplified maintenance tracking. Typical uses include:

• Creating a birth record (manufacturer's part information)
• Adding/viewing maintenance records, revision status, and environmental warnings
• Locating expired parts with hand-held reader

The software also supports the Air Transport Association ATA Spec 2000 out of the box and so is ideal for aviation companies moving forward with tagging programs.

Security and smart card kits include a reader, tags and demonstration software which showcases the use of the high memory tags with technologies such as secure encryption and authentication via digital signatures and secure hashing. For example, the kits demonstrate the ability to hold information such as facial images and fingerprints on the card electronically and to detect any changes to that data. Each kit includes fifty smart cards of up to 24kB memory.

Development kits are ideal for companies using advanced features of the chip, for example to interface to other devices, such as sensors, controls, and displays. The kits include a development board, packaged parts and extensive technical documentation regarding external I2C and power interfaces.

Tag kits allow users to test different form factors of tags and different memory sizes. Each kit includes a variety of tags from Tego technology partners and approved manufacturers, and include: rugged tags for industrial and aviation applications, high temperature tags, gamma sterilizable tags and smart cards. Kits are available with 20, 200, and 250 tags.
